The person appointed by the Sheriff to divide the Parish was Thomas Linklater
the schoolmaster of ------ in Enumeration District 2. Andrew Smith signed
as the Minister of the Parish and lived in The Manse in the south of the Parish
in Enumeration District 3.
No persons were listed as sleeping outside or in boats, barns etc.

So much of the parish of Holm including the island of Lambholm as lies S W of the lines
of Road N E of Grameshall passing Hestwall joining the new lines of the post road to the
grind of Wilderness W & S by the Sea.

So much of the parish of Holm as lies N E of the lines of road N E of Grameshall passing
by Hestwall joining the new lines of the post road to the Grind of Wilderness. By the
parish of St. Andrews on th north east & the Mill burn on the E.

| By the Census of 1831 ditto was | 747 |
| Increase | 119 |
being at the rate of 15.91 percent on the population of 1831. This increase is attributed to the success of the Herring fishery, and to the settlement of additional families in the parish who have removed to Holm from other parishes in the County. No accurate register of Births marriages and deaths is kept in the parish so far as could be ascertained.

parish of St Andrews
Thomas Linklater as Person appointed to divide the Parish recorded the following remarks:
Only the following remark occurs to me - that the increase since last census may be owing to
young men about to engage in the Herring fishing being now at home who might otherwise
have been absent.
The Minister added the following remarks:
Parliament exhibited to me the Enumerators' Schedules of this Parish I have no observations
to make on them I hereby signify my approbation of the manner in which the Census has been
conducted
