Many of the young men and females belonging to this district in consequence of a
temporary absence at sea & at service could not be included in this enumeration
- but it is calculated that if all who are temporarily absent were included the
numbers would be increased not less than 23 - & the cause of increase since
last Census may be stated as owing to the greater number of early marriages
which the improvement in the fisheries has tended to promote.
